I began working on my ‘poet project’ in 2006. I contacted a few writers and asked if I could photograph them. I asked them to then nominate a further poet with whom they had some form of connection - whether it be intellectual or romantic (!), friendly or antagonistic. Some of the resulting images are on this page.
In 2010 The National Portrait Gallery in London acquired a dozen of my portraits of contemporary writers to be held in their collection for the nation.
